![]() ![]() Chamber committees offer members the opportunity to become involved in an area of their interest. Committees provide a forum in which to meet other business leaders who share similar concerns and a chance to work on projects related to those issues. Committees are open to all members in good standing who are willing to make a commitment to meet the objectives of their committee(s) of interest. Find one that interests YOU - and join other interested Chamber members in working on various Chamber programs. Ambassadors Ambassadors are Chamber members who make a commitment of time and effort in making people feel welcome at Chamber events, and represent the Chamber in the community. Ambassadors strive to create meaningful relationships and encourage member involvement in chamber activities, with special attention being paid to new members. Ambassadors make new business contacts for their businesses while supporting the efforts of the Chamber and its members. Membership Committee Comprised of interested Chamber members who are enthusiastic about the benefits of Chamber membership and want to extend those benefits to other businesses in the Buena Park area to help them grow. Committee members work in partnership with Chamber staff and community businesses. Council on Business & Government Learn about proposed legislation as it relates to business, from representatives of National, State, County and City government. The Chamber communicates to appropriate legislators, urging them to take a pro-business positions on certain legislation. Business Expo Committee The Expo committee organizes an annual Business 2 Business Multi-Chamber Expo that promotes member businesses to each other and the public. The Buena Park, La Mirada, La Palma and Stanton Chambers of Commerce host the event and it is held in the month of February at the Knott’s Berry Farm Resort Hotel. Holiday Auction Committee The Holiday Auction and Taste of Buena Park is held annually, in early December at the Holiday Inn, Buena Park. The committee secures restaurants to provide food and obtain auction items for this “community holiday party” which is also one of the Chamber’s key fundraisers. The committee meets as needed from September to December. Police Luncheon Committee The Chamber honors the Buena Park Police by holding its “Police Appreciation Luncheon” annually in May. Police are honored individually for heroic efforts during the past year. The Committee plans the luncheon, seeks sponsors for the Police personnel, invites the community and has a turnout of 300+ people. Meets as needed from January through May. Golf Tournament Committee Annual Golf Tournament with La Palma, adding Stanton Chamber in 2010 and Cypress Chambers in 2011. Tournament usually held on a Monday in May. Committee seeks corporate sponsors, golfers, and raffle prizes to make the Chambers’ largest fundraiser successful. Meet as needed from September to May. |
