CITY OF BUENA PARK FORMS "CHARTER EXPLORATORY COMMITTEE"
The City of Buena Park is currently a "general law" city, exclusively relying on the state legislature to establish laws and regulations pertaining to municipal affairs. Nearly 3/4 of California cities continue to operate under general law status. About 1/4 of California cities have adopted city charters making them known as "charter cities." Charter cities retain authority over legislation, laws and regulations relating to such municipal affairs. The seven member Charter Exploratory Committee will be making presentations to community groups through mid-May and submit input to the City Council. If you would like additional information, please contact Gail Dixon at 714 521-0261 or Shalice Reynoso, City Clerk at 714 562-3750.
